K-Pop fans rejoice! The beautiful South Korean singer IU (Lee Ji-Eun), is making a return to Singapore for the first time since 2019. As announced on her Instagram, she will be performing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Apr 20 and 21, as part of her HER World Tour Concert.
Besides being known for her amazing talent on stage, IU is also a beauty and fashion icon, often spotted at events like the Gucci fashion show with pale, plump, glassy skin to match.
As part of the excitement leading up to her arrival in April, we would like to share a couple of beauty secrets the pop star swears by so you too, can glow like IU.
When it comes to skincare, IU likes to stick to the basics. Her skincare routine consists largely of essentials, which include a facial wash, toner, facial oil, moisturiser and sunscreen. While all that might sound rudimentary, the secret is in how she applies her routine!
After cleansing her skin, she combines a hydrating toner with two drops of facial oil onto a cotton pad before massaging this soothing concoction into her face. She does this for about five minutes to allow ample time for her skin to absorb the products so that she can get the most out of her skincare.
In an interview with CNP, IU revealed that toner is simply something she cannot live without. She believes it helps even out skin tone, calm irritation, hydrates the skin and leaves it feeling healthy and glowing. IU also maintains her youthful complexion by prioritising hydration, and making sure she drinks enough water daily.
To maintain her pale skin, she never leaves the house without sunscreen after moisturising. We all know the importance of sunscreen and how it helps protect the skin from UV rays and free radicals so if you want to achieve perfect skin like IU, definitely do not skip out on this crucial step!
Last but not least, IU is fond of using a BB cushion as a base product for her makeup. A BB cushion, similar to a tinted moisturiser, has a sheerer coverage than traditional foundations, allowing the natural skin to shine through. This creates a flawless, no-makeup makeup look, fitting of a natural beauty like IU.
